Monasterio de Piedra

The scenery was truly beautiful, though the place was remote and inconvenient to reach, about half an hour's drive from the city center. During our photoshoot, we were also driven away. Just as we were about to leave, an elderly staff member angrily told us not to wear “such Japanese-style clothing” and to “wear normal clothes.” At first, that might not have been a big deal, but he kept pushing, and I got angry. I explained clearly that it was Chinese-style clothing. He gave a dismissive look and said he didn’t care which country it came from, we just couldn’t dress like that there. Then he said a lot of other very disrespectful things. We had already told him that other staff outside had let us in, but he still confronted us angrily from behind. You can be upset if our unconventional clothes got in the way of your work, but you shouldn’t discriminate against a character like that. Even if the character I’m cosplaying isn’t a good person, we’re here because we love the craft and put in our own time, money, and effort. Some people even traveled four hours from other cities to be there. I nearly lost my temper and felt like cursing at him, just as Xue Yang would have. My friend, who was cosplaying as Jin Guangyao, probably saw my expression and stepped in to talk calmly with the other party. After everything that happened, and given how remote the beautiful location is, I said I won't go back.

The river and fresh air give this fantastic park a wonderfully warm atmosphere. Spending a day here is a real pleasure for the whole family. If you get to see the birds perform, you're lucky. Come see it.

Allow a whole day for this place. The paths are good for walking with the right footwear, but all the waterfalls mean damp, slippery spots. Still, it's worth it. Be sure to stop and see the raptors, they're amazing! You can also follow the path down to the waterfall and go behind it. Take the steps down to the cave. It's well lit and has handrails, but it's not suitable for small toddlers, prams, or pushchairs. Probably not good for dogs unless they're trained in cave rescue! The view from behind the waterfall is so beautiful and breathtaking, and wet. Keep your hood up. Don't bring umbrellas, you'll need both hands for photos.

The entrance price seemed a little steep at first, but it was worth it. The parque is wonderful, and the old monastery is really beautiful. We had lunch too, and it was very reasonably priced.
