There are bed bugs here. After staying, my whole left side was covered in bites. There was basically no staff around, and a couple across the room thought it was okay to smoke inside in the middle of the night. Not good.

The hospitalero really made this place for me. I was sick, and he helped arrange a taxi and a doctor, then wrote to ask the next day if I was feeling better. You can tell he cares. The place itself is nice and clean, with lots of space, though the kitchen is quite small and you can’t cook there. There are microwaves. I slept well, so I found the beds comfortable enough. It’s nothing extraordinary, but the people make the place. I can recommend it 🙂
The bunk beds were satisfactory and the rates are reasonable. Laundry service is included, which is handy for pilgrims. I had a decent stopover here during my Camino de Santiago, but the shared bathrooms need work, both in their layout and cleanliness. More attention to them would make the stay much better.
The person at reception was friendly and helpful, the only positive part of my stay. I wouldn’t recommend Allberga. The place was dirty throughout, from the mattresses to the common areas, and the bathrooms were moldy and not properly cleaned. There’s a large room with 50 random beds, including extra beds put together from old makeshift arrangements.
I had a very stressful night, the worst of my whole journey, and it wasn’t worth the money. The person who took my booking hadn’t told me a group of schoolchildren would be staying there. They were loud, and the lights stayed on past 11 pm. The lights by the toilet are motion activated, which made it terrible to sleep nearby. I was put with another pilgrim under the stairs, where you can hear everything happening upstairs in the kitchen. The showers weren’t very clean, perhaps because so many young people were staying that day. People should be told about school groups at albergues so they can make an informed choice.
