We’d had a great time in this fairy-tale town, and the wine and tapas we tried in the square on Sunday were both good quality and well priced. That’s why we came back for lunch the next day, but it was a big mistake. The starters were disappointing. My black rice with calamari and cuttlefish was cold, had no cuttlefish, and came with just three baby squid. My partner’s Navarre thistle with ham was overcooked celery in a bowl of oil, with only a few shavings of ham. My BBQ chicken wings were three wings with a handful of frozen chips. The beef in my partner’s stew was cooked well but very fatty, and the bowl was full of oil with frozen vegetables. Dessert was OK. We’d spent a few nights at the fantastic motorhome aire, and I’d happily return for tapas, but definitely not for a meal.

That “apple pie” is delicious. It has a pastry base, lovely vanilla cream, and apples on top. I found it a little too sweet, but still really enjoyed it. They should make more of this dessert and highlight its name.

The food was poor compared with other places nearby, and the service was a mess. The bar stayed piled with dirty dishes and empty bottles while we were there, and the waitresses seemed unsure what they were supposed to be handling. We were only offered the daily menu, and after the first course we waited a full 30 minutes for the second. Then it took another 15 minutes to get the ready-made desserts. One wasn’t even the kind of cake pictured on the menu. The waitresses weren’t friendly, either. Before we sat down, one of them made two people leave their table so we could use it. I would never return and would tell others to avoid it. P.S. I’ve seen the owner answer negative reviews with deplorable arrogance. That makes a bad place worse, with owners who are rude and pathetic. Shame on you. Admit you’re doing things badly instead of trying to justify yourselves, and provide good service if you don’t want low ratings.

The steak seemed raw at first, so we asked to have it cooked longer, but it was still bad in the middle. Then we realized it had gone off. The owner brought out another raw steak to show that it was fresh, but it looked grey and was turning green. I hope we don’t get food poisoning. Don’t order steak here!
