Eurocamping

The site grew on us during our four nights at the end of October this year. At first I was a bit overwhelmed by how crowded and messy it looked, with lots of seasonal pitches. Some had their own picket fence wrapped in what looked like tarpaulin, as well as sheds. Those seemed to be near the toilet block. We found a nice pitch at the far end. The huge toilet and shower block was clean, though the floors could do with a mop, and the showers were piping hot. All pitches are only a few minutes from the beautiful beach, though the ones overlooking it were full. We ate at the restaurant once. It was reasonably priced, but my husband hates oil and sauce, and his plain fish arrived full of bones while the salad had dressing, which put him off. Everyone else enjoyed their food. It was a great stay, the location is worth the 21 euros a night with the Acsi card, and I’d definitely come back.

If you want space, views, peace, and quiet, this probably isn’t the place for you. We only walked around while looking for somewhere to stay, and it wasn’t for us: no views, very tight pitches, no privacy, and far too many people. It’s a very busy site. But I can see why it gets good reviews. The toilets and showers are modern and clean, there’s a shop and restaurant, and the beautiful beach is accessible from the campsite. Oliva is a short drive or cycle away. If this kind of busy campsite suits you, it’s 5 stars.

We went to the restaurant yesterday with a group of 10 for dinner. The waiter asked what we wanted to drink, but when we asked for the menu he said we could only order takeaway, not eat there. A couple at the next table had just started their meal. When we asked why we couldn’t get food, he said there was no service personal, though he was serving drinks. We offered to pick up menus at the bar, but he refused, and was quite ignorant about the whole thing. We decided to leave and go to another nearby restaurant.

We arrived yesterday in 38° heat and waited 45minutes for the electricity to be turned on, so the Motorhome was baking hot. The restaurant was expensive and the food overcooked. Then we waited another 20 minutes for them to disconnect the electric. The setup is ridiculous. At 9am the toilet and shower block was chained up for cleaners, so we had to walk to another area to shower and wash dishes. I’d never go there again.
