Hotel Can Blanc

The rooms are very basic, and the staff don’t speak English. Breakfast is almost nonexistent, as the pictures make clear. It’s a very rustic place, so if you enjoy camping, this might suit you. The location is good if you want to be out in the wild.

Breakfast was very nice, and the staff were great. The location is cozy and peaceful, but the basic room had almost no air movement. It was very warm, and we couldn’t adjust the thermostat because the AC had been turned off for the season. Opening the windows wasn’t an option with no-see-ums everywhere outside, so we had a very uncomfortable, unrestful night. It’s probably good value when the A/C is working.

The location is beautiful, with a mature garden full of plants and trees, sun beds, and a swimming pool. It’s shady and green, with peaceful surroundings and gentle walks. There’s a botanical walk and marshland nearby, and the car access to the valleys and villages is good. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean, and breakfast excellent. I can’t find anything to fault and would recommend it to all ages. I’ll return.

I planned to stay one night and wound up staying three. Can Blanc is in a wonderful spot, probably the best in Olot, between fields and forest, next to major hiking routes and the lovely little nature reserve of Aiguamoixos de la Moixina. The rooms are spotless and spacious, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is standard, parking feels safe, and you can sit in the garden in the evening listening to the forest.
