Gran Hotel Toledo

I booked two nights, but decided to leave after the first. The place looked quiet and clean when I arrived, and the room itself was clean too. Parking was hit or miss, though the location was great. I chose it partly for the mountain and surrounding views from the first room. When I tried to open the shutters, they wouldn't budge. The person I think was the owner came up, tugged at them, and the whole window shutter fell out. They moved me to another room, but that one looked mostly onto apartment blocks, with only a sliver of mountain visible through the fire escape. Its shower holder was broken, so I had to hold the shower head, and the shelf above the sink had cigarette burns all over it. At breakfast, the bananas were almost completely black. By then I didn't want to stay a second night. I explained why at reception, but was told I'd have to pay for both nights because Booking.com would still charge them. The woman called someone and eventually got permission for me to leave early. She was very nice and helpful; the decision was with whoever she spoke to on the phone. I found a paragraph on the booking site saying early departure was up to the hotel's discretion, after quite a frustrating search. Maybe I was just unlucky and it could be fine another day, so this doesn't have to put anyone off. I feel bad saying it, but I can't lie.
