One small drawback: the rooms face the street. It’s quiet at night, but you’re better off keeping the windows shut. When we left, they gave us a little farewell gift, which felt like a lovely personal gesture. The breakfast room stays open around the clock, with sparkling wine, sangria, cider, cookies, snacks, and chorizo available to help yourself to. Breakfast itself was beautifully presented, and they handled special requests quickly and cheerfully. Each room has its own decor and thoughtful details that give the place character. The hosts are warm, attentive, and clearly take pride in their work. This is a family-run hotel, and you feel their care from the moment you arrive. Guests are made to feel welcome and valued. We’ll remember Txanka Erreka fondly and highly recommend it.

A gorgeous hotel on the Camino, with a lovely interior, kind service, and welcome drinks and snacks 💖 We slept well with the windows closed.

We were driving from France to Portugal and needed somewhere for one night. This was an unexpected, really positive stop. The lady who welcomed us was so attentive to the little details, probably the owner. A chef made breakfast for us in the morning. You can tell there’s a lot of love in what they do.

The staff were so kind to my young daughter and even had little surprises for her. We had a wonderful two-night stay, and they helped us work out how to get everywhere we wanted to go. Getting around without a car was the hard part. There aren’t many taxis in Orio, and walking into town is a bit of a trek, though it’s beautiful. You have to cross a busy road to get to the bus. I’d say this hotel works best if you have a car.

The people working here are so friendly, and it’s great that they welcome pets. We enjoyed having complimentary coffee and little snacks too. Breakfast only starts at 8, so it was handy to grab a coffee and cookie when we needed to leave earlier.
