Goodplaces Oropesa Playa

We found one of the cats that had disappeared, and it was in a terrible state, extremely thin with every bone showing and barely able to walk or breathe. There are many stray cats around these homes, and several vanished suddenly. We strongly suspect someone from building management or a nearby property is responsible. It seems they may be poisoning the cats like pests to make the neighborhood look “clean” before tourist season. Inhumane and disgusting. What kind of people would do this?

The worst part was how poorly cleaned the apartment was. Everything smelled closed up, including the sheets, and there was a strong stale smell as if nobody had opened the place in weeks. The blinds were all shut, like no one had come in to clean for weeks. The kitchen was dirty, with stains on the ceramic hob and hardly any utensils. There were marks on the living-room tables and dirt on the floor. We had to spend quite a while cleaning before we felt comfortable.

We had a lovely week there, and the apartment was clean. The air conditioning was a real bonus. By the pool, though, two or three umbrellas just weren’t enough. More shade would help, even if they didn’t add sun loungers, especially for people with babies.

It was good value for money, and we had a fairly positive stay. The complex has a pleasant pool, and there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, with a quiet, family-friendly feel. The apartment was spacious, bright, and generally in good condition. The beach is close, sandy, clean, roomy, and not too crowded. A couple of things let it down: the shower in one of the two bathrooms wouldn’t drain and leaked around the sides. Also, the previous tenants had left the cutlery and kitchen utensils dirty, so the kitchen smelled bad and we struggled to get rid of the dried-on grease.
