Vacaciones Oromarina Torremar

We paid over €150 a night for a 50m² apartment for two, and got half a used toilet roll and no hairdryer. The balcony never got sun, so we were cold and ended up using stained, smelly blankets from the closets. The old spring mattress was uncomfortable, and sleeping was hard with children running and shouting in the halls from early morning, even on the eighth floor. The apartment was filthy. There was a spider in the bedroom, dust bugs in the bathtub, dust on the floor and shelves, and grimy patio furniture kept inside. Some lights didn't work. The fridge was rusty and barely cooled our food, while the freezer had ice built up. Some dishes and kitchen things were dirty too. The kitchen and shower taps sputtered and made loud noises. The shower was rusty and leaked underneath, sending water into the dining room after each use. We had to wear flip-flops in it and mop half the apartment every time, using a broken bucket. At check-in they asked for a €100 deposit without warning us ahead of time. We accepted without arguing, even though it covered penalties such as leaving dirty dishes or not taking out the rubbish. With rules that strict, you'd expect a decent place. They require it to be tidy for the deposit refund, but the apartment itself wasn't clean. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this. They take advantage of people who don't expect such a terrible place at that price. If you complain, they ignore you. They know what they're offering and have no interest in improving or fixing it.

We spent €312 for two days for two people, plus a €100 deposit, and it felt like a rip-off. The place was neglected and the furniture wasn't maintained; if something was damaged, it was simply left that way. As soon as we walked in, the damp smell was overwhelming. They expect the apartment to be tidy to return the deposit, but it should be spotless. It looked as though it had only had a quick clean long ago. Dust covered the terrace chairs stored in the living room, there was dust on parts of the floor, and the chair upholstery was dirty. The water heater was switched off. The phone number they gave us was out of service, which is ridiculous for a holiday resort. I wouldn't go back even if it were free.

We rented directly through people we knew, and the price was good. Since the owners use the small but nice apartment in summer, it was spotless, with air conditioning. No agency was involved, and everything there was perfect. The pool was nice and had music, but the heat was already sweltering by noon. The beach was neglected and nothing special, with lots of stones, so we hardly went. Marina d'Or felt abandoned, especially around the hotels, with the lights off and everything broken and dirty. It was fine for a week on a budget, but we won't return next year. We'd rather spend more. After reading the reviews, I'm glad we rented by word of mouth.

Oro Marina will be the first and last agency we book with. When we arrived yesterday, we had to call to learn that reception was actually called Oro Marina, and the staff there were incredibly rude. The apartment was filthy, and I had to scrub the bathtub as soon as we got in. It also leaked, and my daughter nearly broke her neck because of it. The front door lock was broken, the walls were cracked, the dishwasher spray arms were bent, and there was no salt to prevent limescale. The bathroom latch didn't work because the door was out of alignment. Cabinet drawers were loose, the sofa bed was dusty, and the whole place was generally dirty. They charged us a deposit on the promise of leaving everything clean and tidy, yet didn't even bother to check or fix the apartment. We'll see when we leave whether they return the deposit, or whether we'll have to pressure them too.
