We were in Otos on a Sunday out of season, and all the restaurants were closed for the evening. Luckily, Bar Paradis was open, so we managed to get a light snack and then had a good night's sleep. A cosy, quiet hotel with historic rooms and interiors, and a lovely place to stay while passing through.

There’s a terrace at the back with a view over the valley, and the old hotel and restaurant has lots of unusual details. Naturally, there are sundials, several of them, including an equatorial one and one showing Babylonian time, Muslim prayer times, and Christian festival dates and months. They also serve a nice cafe solo.

I really didn’t enjoy this restaurant. The service was very poor, and the menú "muntanya" was overloaded with herbs. The dessert portion was too small as well.

The baked rice came after a delicious, perfectly cooked selection of starters: cod meatballs, salad, and charcuterie. We finished with carob mousse, which was spectacular, and egg custard. It was the set weekend menu for €17, and you won’t find anything better in the area. Reservations are essential.
