The beach was gorgeous and peaceful, just a short walk away, with two nice beach bars. The hotel is secluded, with beautiful views and very few restaurants or bars nearby, so it suited a quiet break. Getting back uphill with a buggy was manageable but steep. Staff were lovely and made our little boy feel welcome. Sara was absolutely lovely and a real asset to the team. A fair-haired man from the entertainment team also made an effort to include us, even though most activities were in French. The entertainment was mostly French-speaking, but we enjoyed the magic show and karaoke. Our room was clean and well maintained, though a bit dated and not very sleek. Reception was tidy and the staff friendly, but check-in could have been more thorough. A physical map would’ve helped. The all-inclusive food was decent, but often bland and overcooked. Breakfast sausages could be better. Soft drinks were good, while the machine-made cocktails were too sweet. The upselling sometimes felt off-putting. We took the local bus to shops about 20-25 minutes away. It was very cheap, €2.80 for two adults and a baby, but there are no pavements to the stop. A supermarket 5-10 minutes away had good prices and baby items. The hotel shop was very expensive, €14 for nappies.

There are good facilities here: the indoor pool, suna, steam room, gym, basketball court and outdoor areas were all very good. The water in the room was hot, and room service was efficient. The room was clean and tidy, though the decor, especially in the bathroom, felt a little tired. Food choice was a bit limited, perhaps because this is a smaller resort than some we’ve visited. All-inclusive food tends to be a little same-same wherever you go, but otherwise it was fine. You’ll get more out of the location if you hire a car and want to explore beyond the hotel and nearby beach. My one personal disappointment was no kettle in the room and no milk available after breakfast for my tea. It wasn’t the end of the world. I bought some from the hotel shop and kept it in the in-room fridge. I’d recommend the hotel to anyone planning to visit.

We had a really good stay at Alua Village Fuerteventura. The service was friendly and helpful throughout, and although most guests seemed to be French, the entertainment team translated activities and shows into English too. The beach nearby is lovely. Caretta Beach Bar is about a 15-minute walk away and worth a visit. At the hotel, only one pool was open during our stay, while the other was empty. The open one was lovely and refreshing. Some poolside music would have added to the atmosphere. Food was good, with a different theme each day, though some dishes repeated all week. We tried to reserve the à la carte restaurant but there was no availability. The outdoor drinks hut stayed closed for the whole week, which was inconvenient. It would have saved us going inside, where the bar sometimes had queues.

I’ve stayed at Alua Village five times because I love it. The hotel is kept spotless, and the rooms are cleaned to a good standard every day. The food is very good, with no complaints from me. The location is ideal, with a beautiful beach I enjoy walking along twice a day. I always get my club and think it’s worth the extra, even though I don’t drink. The gym could be better, but it does the job on holiday. The rooms are nice, though some need updating. I’m sure I’ll be back.

The food was a real mixed bag. At Terra there’s a commendable range: fresh vegetables, cold cuts, cheese, pasta, pizza, grilled fish, rice, polenta or risotto, hotdogs, burgers, meat, potatoes, cooked vegetables, sweets, ice cream, joghurt, fresh and canned fruit, bread, plus sodas, wine and water. Breakfast also had eggs, bacon, sausages, croissants, toast, oats, juices, milk and more. But quality was below par in places. Most cooked vegetables seemed preserved or frozen, which affected them, though that’s understandable given the volume and logistics. Meat and fish were often dry, bacon soggy rather than crisp, rice a bit undercooked, risotto dry and wines somewhat sour. I could go on. Enyesque, the other restaurant, is mostly not part of the all-inclusive plan, and was a very positive experience. Portions were modest, but the food and house wine were good. Our room was very nice and came with towels, tea cups and bags, a mini fridge, water boiler, TV, landline and a stand for drying towels. Some buildings had cracks, and there were exposed cables here and there, but overall things were kept reasonably well. The outside pools aren’t heated, while the indoor ones are only mildly heated. The whirlpool works nicely; the steam room isn’t particularly steamy. Free WiFi was very slow, a bit of a joke. There’s plenty of wildlife around. Cats roam the grounds, which I like, though not everyone will. Sparrows, pigeons and egrets stalk Terra’s terrace and can be bolder than some guests are comfortable with. Wait and bar staff were friendly and accommodating, although plates of food and even plain fruit were sometimes cleared while we’d just stepped away for a drink. It’s hard to fault them, since I often saw other guests leaving full plates behind. The beach is a manageable walk away for anyone with working legs. The sand is nice and good for burying a buddy for fun.
