H10 Playa Esmeralda - Adults Only

The area around the hotel is gorgeous, with idyllic beaches. It was also lovely seeing the stray cats in such good health and being cared for, though I think that’s an island thing rather than something specific to this hotel. We had a good time, and the rooms were very clean. The bathroom could use a refurb, but everything worked. Food quality was good apart from the pretty nasty coffee at breakfast. The coffee in the other bars was decent, and the Italian restaurant is worth trying. Service was generally very good, with a few standout staff. Most facilities were okay. The gym looked fine, but we didn’t use it, and the spa was fully booked, so I can’t comment on that. For a place calling itself four-star, I expected room service and more frequent towel changes. Towels were changed once every 4 days, which was awkward in January, when it rained most days and there was no heated rail to dry them. You also pay for the room safe and for swapping pool towels. And no iron at all, which is bizarre. Even Travelodge has irons. I’d still want an iron and more regular towel changes if it were rated three stars. If you find a bargain, you may have a good time too, but we won’t be rushing back.

The beach was beautiful, though very, very windy, and I could usually find good food options as a vegetarian. The rooms were tidy and got a light clean each day. I did notice a little mold inside some picture frames and above the air conditioning, and there were no cotton swabs. Service was very good. Aqua Yoga on stand up paddle boards and Aqua Cycling with Wljadi were especially fun. The animation was excellent in December 2024, and the entertainer even reminded me a bit of the German comedian Teddy. 🧸😉 A friend recommended it as the best hotel on Fuerteventura, and I thought it was a very good hotel.

There are great sea views, especially at sunset, with the best spot being the bar by reception. The hotel feels peaceful even when it’s busy, and there are plenty of sunbeds despite people reserving them in the morning. The buffet changes daily, but the selection isn’t huge. If you like sangria, you can get it on tap. It took us a few days to figure that out! Wajdi is a fantastic entertainer, full of energy and happy to join in with the exercise.

The beach is just around the corner, and there’s loads to do indoors and out, from several pools to the gym and spa. The place is spacious and clean, and each meal had lots of delicious dishes. The website answers nearly everything, but the staff were happy to help with a smile whenever we needed guidance. We especially enjoyed the weekly entertainment, like the Sangria Demonstration with Wajdi. It was fun, informative, and ended with a tasty drink. We’ll try making it at home. This H10 hotel was a delight, and we had a lovely stay.
