The town was shut when I got there on Monday, so it was a huge help when Mariam, the owner, offered to make dinner from whatever was in the kitchen. She’s super kind and really looked after me. The hotel itself is beautifully furnished, with a lot of artistic taste.

We found the hosts really warm and friendly, and our room was spacious and clean. It’s a lovely little country hotel El Capricho booked for our recent visit. It deserves more stars than it gets, and we’ll stay there again next time we’re in the region.

The only letdown was breakfast. Coffee, toast, and juice felt a bit basic for the price. Otherwise, it’s a charming, peaceful spot in the Spanish countryside near El Capricho, with great decor and furnishings and extremely friendly hosts. Our room had an old-style four-poster bed. I’d definitely stay again if I’m in the area.
