Hostal La Llagosta

Llafranc is a charming place, with a lovely beach, relaxed feel, and great views. We stayed two nights in September in a sea-facing room with a balcony, and the view was excellent, stretching along the whole beach without anything blocking it. It's not a luxurious hotel, but the price seemed fair compared with nearby places, so do your research. The staff were great, and the owner was friendly. Locals told us the restaurant is very good. We walked to La Fosca in about four hours, and another day made the six-hour walk to Tamariu and back. The views along the way were stunning. If you're visiting this part of the world, I'd recommend getting a room with a view.

Some rooms are on the small side, and there's no lift, but the place has a lovely, authentic charm. The rooms are simple, clean, bright, and comfortable, especially the ones with sea-view balconies. Staff are friendly and attentive, always happy to help. The restaurant does excellent fresh seafood and rice dishes, and breakfast is generous and tasty. We enjoyed it all on the terrace overlooking the beach. With the hostal right on the seafront, waking to the sound of the waves and taking a morning stroll felt magical.

The wine list was impressive and thoughtfully put together, and the service was excellent, though I can see how it might feel confusing at times. I liked that they tried to make creative dishes, but what I ate was only okay. Maybe I chose the wrong things, since I've had better elsewhere. It wasn't bad, but for those prices I'd probably eat somewhere else next time.

We only had lunch, and the food was amazing. The waiter service could use a few small improvements, but we loved the place. It's been refurbished and looks nice.
