Hostal LA Fosca

We spent one night here while walking camino de Ronde. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the beach and views are beautiful. We ate at the restaurant, where I had some of the best fish I’ve ever tasted. Portions were generous, perhaps too generous, and it was a bit pricey. Still, I can definitely recommend the place.

A delicious lunch! I loved their focus on sustainability and local produce. The prawns, tomato salad, hamburger, fried hake, homemade ice creams and truffles were all super tasty. Even the organic coffee at the end was great.

The view was fantastic, and we were glad to find a table without a reservation during a busy lunch. With two hungry kids, though, the long waits and hectic service, with little communication, made things challenging. They did get the starters and kids’ meals out quickly in the end. The pan con tomate and fried squid were fine, as were the children’s dishes, and the house white wine was nice. The paella was a letdown, basically tasting only of salt. The meal felt expensive given the paella and service. The rush and general lack of friendliness were disappointing, especially since the main course shouldn’t have been like that. No one asked how it was, so I couldn’t tell the staff.

You can fall asleep to the sound of the sea at this lovely hotel right by the water. The food is amazing, made with farm produce, and everything is ecological. Staff are friendly and try to answer your questions. I’ll definitely come back for more tomato salads, sheep’s cheese, fresh fish, paellas and that amazing pan con chocolate.
