Service was great throughout the hotel, and there’s a great trail down to the beach, about a 25-minute walk. The mattress was great, but the pillows were too hard, and the Wi-Fi had problems. Road noise from the nearby freeway was an issue. There was little privacy between decks: the translucent bamboo divider let us see and hear neighbors, smell their smoke, and it seemed easy to climb onto the other deck. The pool loungers had no cushions. The restaurant menu was very limited and unsatisfactory, with the same lunch and dinner options all week. There were too many smoking areas, with ashtrays almost everywhere outside. Breakfast was just OK. We weren’t impressed and would rate it three stars at best.

For the price we paid, that was the one part that felt five-star. We expected more from a five-star room: two sockets and a lamp didn’t work, the tap leaked, and the air conditioning barely worked. Two shower taps by the swimming pool were broken as well. This was a disappointing stay, and we won’t repeat it. A pity. I think the review would have been more positive if this had been a three- or four-star hotel.

The staff were warm and helpful from the moment we arrived, and Joaquin and everyone else made our short stay so pleasant. Gorgeous beaches and coves were less than 10 minutes away by car. I’ve seen reviews calling the hotel outdated, but I didn’t find it that way. We loved its age and charm, and wouldn’t have liked it as much if it were more modern. There were delightful details everywhere: the doors to the back garden, art on the walls, silverware, a huge shower, books in several languages in the library, and a beautiful breakfast spread. My favorite was the white slipcover armchair, which I wanted to take home for a little nap nook. The place balances history and charm with an elegant but very welcoming, homey feel. I almost want to keep it my own little secret, but that wouldn’t do this beautiful establishment justice. Highly recommend, and I’ll certainly be back.

Our dog had a wonderful time at the beach and in the fields, and the hotel was very pet friendly. The setting was unreal, with lovely charm and impeccable style. Dinner was outstanding for both quality and price, and the service was fantastic. Thanks to Qin for the wonderful breakfast service, and to the rest of the staff for making our stay memorable.

The restaurant was a letdown, with a clearly lower standard than the attached five-star hotel. It seemed aimed at nearby camping guests, and the seafood didn’t seem fresh. A 28euros menu shouldn’t offer products of that quality. The hotel itself is an amazing five-star boutique, with unique art and furniture, top-level service, and a perfect breakfast. It needs serious maintenance, but it still has an exceptional feel.
