Such a lovely place, and I really liked the owner. What a great person! I was here for one night while doing the Camino in December. It's a quiet little town.

That cooling gel for tired feet and legs was such a thoughtful touch, probably the best one of our trip. We also had free coffee and tea, and the breakfast was the best we'd had on our Camino so far: fresh bread, orange juice and bacon, all self-serve in a cosy room. Lunch and dinner were served at a restaurant nearby. Check-in was quick and easy. Even though our cosy room was at street level, we heard no street noise and slept soundly. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower was probably the best we had on the Camino. This place is a jewel.

The staff were lovely, and dinner just around the corner was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was a great self-serve buffet with hot and cold food. The room and bathroom were really beautiful, very clean and comfortable. There was a free coffee machine in reception, and we could sit in the sun on deckchairs. Would highly recommend.

Those little touches on arrival, sweets and moisturizer for our feet, were especially nice. It was a superb hotel on our Camino, with beautiful rooms and a super breakfast. Highly recommend.

The owners were so warm, kind and helpful, and the room was clean and quiet. The location is perfect, just a few steps from El Camino, and breakfast was delicious. A great start to the next day. Palas de Rei is small, and not much was open on Sunday, though it was also before the El Camino season. The owners gave us helpful suggestions and directions. I'd highly recommend booking As Hortas on your way to Santiago. It's a great place to get a good night's sleep and breakfast before continuing your journey.
