Mas Cusi

We spent three days in this peaceful, well-equipped apartment in a beautifully located, lovingly restored farmhouse. Self check-in meant we didn’t meet anyone, but everything went smoothly. The pools and views were lovely, and we liked having direct access to the hills.

We were here in mid September, when the surrounding town was very quiet. I’m sure it’s much busier in August, and Roses and Cadaques had plenty going on if we wanted more activity. Mas Cusi was wonderful, with beautiful accommodations and kind, accommodating staff. We had a distant ocean view, and guests can use a charming terrace if their room doesn’t have one. There was even a bottle of wine waiting as a welcoming gesture. It’s a great location for hikers and couples. We stayed in town for dinner and loved SoloVida, which I’d call a must-visit if you’re staying here. Highly recommend.

The staff were attentive and responded to questions quickly and appropriately. Our family of four had a perfect week in the Cap de Crues apartment at Mas Cusi. We loved the balcony view, pool, climate control, and hikes that start right from the parking lot.

The hotel and grounds seem good, but there’s zero privacy, and that made it very uncomfortable to relax in our apartment. The terrace opens straight onto a shared area, with no border, wall, or even plants between it and the common space. People can see into your living room, and you can see them. I don’t understand who designed the terraces this way. You can’t comfortably do anything you wouldn’t want others to see, not even walk around in lingerie in your own room, since someone could see you at any moment. Was the design really meant to leave the curtains closed and keep the lights off all day just to get some privacy? 🙄
