Monasterio de San Francisco

San Francisco Monastery was clean and spacious, with so much history. It's where SanFrancisco,USA gets its name! The service was amazing, and breakfast was great too.

We booked a package with dinner and breakfast, and the food was excellent. A large group of cyclists were there the evening we stayed, which shifted the atmosphere a little, but the hotel itself felt enchanting. Such a beautiful, peaceful place. It was restorative and serene.

We first came for a stay and were so taken with the quiet, the staff, the food, the comfortable beds, and the beautiful building that we decided to have our wedding there three months later. The vegetables are freshly picked by hand from the monastery garden. Having all our guests stay in one place for the weekend was so convenient, and everyone could rest in their rooms whenever they wanted. We had about 60 guests, and they all loved their rooms, the service, and the lovely staff. Each room is a little different, so everyone had their own special little gem. Carmen, the hotel manager, was so supportive while we planned, and the staff handled every wedding detail with precision and care. This is a wonderful place to unwind and recharge, as well as to celebrate with family. It was the best decision of our lives, and an experience none of us will ever forget. 🥹💝🤩😍

The room was fantastic, and most of the staff were lovely. They were always happy to help or make my toddler smile. The hotel was wonderfully relaxing, with incredible birdsong and bells. We had beautiful weather, so we ate outside each evening and used the pool during the day. My son is already asking to go back. There were a few service problems, though. The dinner, bed and breakfast tariff was confusing, and we weren't clear about which meals were included. If we'd known it meant just two choices each night, we probably wouldn't have chosen it. The children's meals were basic and sadly barely eaten. Breakfast was good, but we were first down with the children, and the tour groups on earlier slots had already used everything. Nothing was replenished until well after the standard breakfast window. One morning we waited at a used table without anyone offering clean cutlery or napkins. The honesty bar was a nice idea, but the hotel was busy with parties. One day the slip for writing down what you'd taken wasn't out, the drinks were warm because the ice hadn't been replaced, and the wedding party were helping themselves.
