Torre Bertrana by Duquessa Hotel Collection

I'll come back when I'm in Spain. This was a very nice winery visit, and by far the best white wine I've tasted.

A lovely, peaceful place.

This is about the Torre Bertrana villa by Duquessa Hotel Collection. The property wasn't ready to rent, and throughout our 12-day stay we ran into one problem after another. The furnishings are very old and unreliable, and the house itself is old throughout. Booking.com says the rooms have air conditioning, but they don't. Fans were bought for each room on the second day. The hotplate didn't work, and for the first two days there was no hot water in some rooms. A main water pipe burst, causing flooding in the pool area, where numerous electrical cables run. We had to supervise outsiders who came to repair problems. There were also several power outages, and the property's old electrical and plumbing systems added to our concerns. The ping-pong set was incomplete and the table damaged. The patio and pool were especially unkept, with bird droppings everywhere. There was only one pool cleaner, and by the end of our stay we couldn't swim. A huge hole beside the pool had no barrier or other protection. After rain, an unpleasant sewer smell lingered around the patio and pool. The company managing the property didn't compensate us at all for these inconveniences, not even a little. Communication was poor, and we encountered lies from the company. In short, it felt like a scam. I strongly advise against staying here or using any company that manages other hotels.

The rice tasting is mostly vegetarian, and the price felt fair for the time, setting, and food. The experience includes a guided tour of the rice fields, wine tasting from Mas Geli, and dishes where rice is the star. Three professionals share their enthusiasm for the project they compete in and pass it on to visitors, who feel part of the surroundings. Highly recommended.
