Hotel Zenit Pamplona

We were disappointed by the stay. The room itself was adequate, but there was a mysterious white powder on the sheets, and the room we got didn't match the one we'd booked. The €25 nightly pet fee also felt excessive, particularly since there were no pet-friendly amenities in the room.

The price was attractive and the hotel was near our office for a work trip, but the stay had several problems. The room smelled musty, and housekeeping had left the balcony wide open, probably because of that. Every room opens onto the same terrace, so another guest could have walked straight into my room while I was at work. Privacy was poor too: the balcony faced the shared terrace and an overhead walkway, so keeping the shades open for sunlight meant giving up privacy. On our first evening we tried to eat at the restaurant. We waited at the table for 15 minutes without a menu or anyone offering drinks, even though it didn't look busy. If they couldn't serve us, they should have said so. We left and found somewhere else. Another time, while I was having a beer at the bar, a man started wiping our table even though it wasn't dirty and asked us to lift our glasses so he could keep cleaning. He seemed to be ending his shift. Both the restaurant and bar lacked basic professionalism.

The bed was comfortable, and earplugs helped me get a great night's sleep. The room was clean, the bathroom was big, and the air conditioning was very welcome. There's a McDonalds and shopping center with a supermarket next door, plus handy outdoor parking for the bike. The soundproofing could be better, though. The person above me walked around in heels on the hard floor all night and talked with someone loud.

I got the dates wrong for Hotel zinnit during the city's busy bull run period and had to cancel. Manager Sonia and the staff arranged a full refund straight away. They were professional and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you.
