Hotel Tora

Just a two-minute walk from the strip and beach, this hotel is well above many three-star places I've stayed in. The rooms are neat, with a balcony and a bit of a view, and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. There's also a big room for bicycles. The spacious dining area serves excellent, varied food for meat eaters and vegetarians. Vegan choices were a little limited, though that's the case across the island. The pool area is very nice and well kept. It was big enough in April, but I suspect it gets busy in high season. Highly recommended!

The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the hotel's five minutes on foot from the beach, shops, bars, and restaurants. Best spot in town, highly recommended.

The hotel's a long way from the beach, definitely not 200 metres, and it's up a hill, so be aware of the location. The grounds are dirty, especially the land behind the building. The whole place feels aimed at German tourists, from the menu, TV channels, and food to receptionists who only speak German. The restaurant experience offered little peace. Staff were rude, especially there: they chased diners away from supposedly reserved tables, with half the restaurant set aside for who knows whom from breakfast onward. Waiters kept watching and hurrying us, and took plates while we were still eating. There's no water or other drinks with dinner. The food was cheap, repetitive, unappealing, and included rotten vegetables and bulk low-cost products. There were no real yogurts, just big pots of something watery. Coffee from the machines tasted sour and was undrinkable. There were no gluten-free or lactose-free options for dietary restrictions, and the food cooked to order was always spoiled by too much oil. The rooms were noisy, with every sound from neighboring rooms coming through, including running water, TV, talking, and sneezing. No bottled water was provided, the fridge cost extra, and the soap and bedding were low quality. The bed was hard as a stone. The restaurant is awkwardly placed below ground, down many stairs. This was the worst hotel I stayed at in Mallorca, and it doesn't deserve its 4.4 rating.

The buffet meals were a highlight, the restaurant food was really tasty, and the staff were extremely friendly throughout. Our room was modern and clean, with a balcony overlooking the pool. It's a lovely little village, and the hotel is modern with a great location. The beach and centre are a five-minute walk away, and there's a bus stop for trips to Palma, for example. Absolutely recommended. We'll come back anytime!
