Hotel YIT Conquista de Granada

For a supposed four-star place, this was baffling. My room was tiny, like something in Paris or NYC, and in the basement, with a wall right outside the window. There was one big, uncomfortable pillow, no iron, no toilet brush and none of the necessary bathroom amenities. Nobody spoke English, not even enough to understand the word “iron.”

The building was clean, but I didn’t enjoy my one-night stay. The beds at YIT hotels are seriously uncomfortable, and this place did not come close to four stars. I’ve stayed at other YIT hotels and was disappointed with them too. Three stars would be generous. Dinner was awful: although the prices seemed reasonable, the portions were tiny, with one plate literally having seven fries. Reception service was okay, but the food bar service wasn’t. They told me to wait in my room for a call when my order was ready. An hour and a half later, I still hadn’t heard anything. When I went down, they said they’d finished it earlier and forgotten to call. The food was cold and bland, and they didn’t even offer to reheat it.

Parking was a plus, and at least the receptionist spoke English. But the curtains let in too much light to sleep, and the rooms were noisy, including from the cleaning staff. The receptionist was very unfriendly. I messaged the hotel on WhatsApp and they read it without replying; after I emailed, I got a response by email. They had no baby bed available unless we checked in in the morning, which was a ridiculous answer. There wasn’t even a toilet brush. Definitely not four stars, maybe one. Not worth 54€!

Just okay. It feels more like a three-star place.
