The tapas are delicious, and the service is good, though the drinks are a bit pricey and the waiters quite slow. I went for a drink on the terrace, where there’s one of the few giant TVs around showing football and other events of interest. It’s a good spot to have a drink and watch a match or something else.

The kitchen looked abandoned, and the house was quite dirty when we arrived. We’d booked it more than a month earlier and asked for it to be ready so we could cook our meals, but it wasn’t prepared at all. I didn’t like the house one bit.

Just to be clear, this is now a holiday rental for groups of friends or families, not a restaurant. The owner is the same person who runs the rural inn at the Synagogue, and she’s incredibly shameless. She shows photos of the Synagogue instead of the actual house. The place is in terrible shape, dirty, and poorly serviced. The kitchen is filthy, the sort of place the health department would have shut down if they’d seen it. There are no proper facilities or adequate heating. If you ask for anything, they offer no fix and just blame you for breaking it. There’s no television, no kitchenware, and dirt everywhere, while the price is like staying in a hotel.

We stayed here while cycling the Camino del Cid, and the place was fine. They let us store our bikes. The warm, family-like hospitality from Isabel was the best part, and she made us feel comfortable and at ease.
