Camping Ferrer

A lovely little campsite in a great spot, near the town, old town, and both beaches. Staff were very helpful, and E66 for 3 nights was a good price. Some pitches are tight, so larger vans may have trouble manoeuvring. Nothing fancy, but we enjoyed it.

We loved being able to walk easily to the new and old towns and to both the north and south beaches of Peniscola. The site is compact, which makes sense so close to the centre, but removing the ends of some low walls beside pitches would make it easier for everyone to get in and out. We were in a Motorhome. There’s a lively cafe, a pool, laundry facilities, and a big, clean, well stocked supermarket virtually next door. Prices are low for this location, so it’s still good value despite the shortcomings. The washing and toilet facilities are clean and adequate in number, but need upgrading. Showers are hot, but many floor tiles are missing, and the uneven floors and central drains make them awkward to use. They’re small and have no shelves, too. The toilets have lots of old or dodgy taps, locks, and flushes; some were out of order and some had no seats. You have to pick up toilet paper as you enter instead of finding it in the cubicles, which isn’t good. We’d have been happy to pay a little more for improved facilities, as the site could easily be excellent.

We used the campsite only. The pitches are small and suit vehicles up to 7m at most. It’s a friendly site beside the city centre, and the town is lovely. I’d revisit both the town and the campsite.

The pitches are mostly for motorhomes, though there was the odd small caravan staying longer term. It’s a quiet, compact site, an easy walk from the town centre, castle, and seafront. The showers and toilets were clean, hot, and good, and there are laundry facilities too. Reception was friendly and helpful. €25 a night with ehc is very reasonable. I’d recommend it and come back.
