Las Norias

Finding the holiday home was a challenge, and the property could use some maintenance. Reception staff were friendly, but their limited hours make evening arrivals by plane awkward. Where are you supposed to stay overnight?

The garden and porch were lovely, and we appreciated the quiet residential setting, the beach nearby, and the private pool for the children. Inside, though, there weren't many household items or appliances, most outlets were broken, and the mattresses were very poor. One bedroom had no wardrobe or bedside table. Dirty dishes and glasses were waiting when we arrived, and later we found mouse droppings under furniture. Some windows had no screens, there was no internet, and the hot water ran out before all six of us could shower.

A good option for a larger family, around six or seven people, with the beach and promenade close by and easy road access. The apartment was new, clean, and very quiet. The pool is small but nice for cooling off on a hot day. TV reception was poor and often unreliable, and I missed having a dishwasher.

We were there over Holy Week 2024. The place isn't new, but it's in very good shape and the service was quick. We asked for blankets twice and they arrived right away. The staff were very helpful. The house was bright, clean, and quiet, away from the bars, so we slept peacefully. The location also worked well for walking to the beach. The beds were pretty comfortable for me, even though I often have sciatica and lower back trouble. There was a rooftop terrace for sunbathing and watching the sunset, and a clean 4 x 2.5 m pool. The kitchen had lots of new dishes, pans, plates, and salad bowls, plus an Italian coffee maker, a carafe coffee maker, and an electric juicer. There were recycling bins, too. The welcome bag had toilet paper, a dishcloth, a scouring pad, a small 20-30 ml bottle of dish soap, and a trash bag. A couple of things were frustrating. There was no heating, and it was cold during Easter week, so we needed an extra blanket at night. Our house didn't have a barbecue, unlike some others. Both bathroom toilets were faulty and kept wasting water. One of the four butane burners didn't work, and there was no lighter. We called, and they brought one quickly. The water pressure and temperature were great, but the electric heater can't provide enough hot water for everyone to shower one after another at once. You have to space showers out during the day.
