Hotel Rural el Arco

The restaurant’s terrace and garden have lovely views. We had a very peaceful stay at El Arco, and everything was clean and generally in good shape. It’s in a charming, quiet little village with grand old houses and a medieval bridge. There’s also an old church with its own history, though it’s currently closed for repairs.

The setting is wonderfully quiet and secluded, with fresh air and nature all around. There’s no noise from bars or children, which makes it a good fit for hunters, motorcyclists, or anyone after complete peace. It’s a remote Castilian mountain village, though that could be a problem in an emergency: there’s no pharmacy and just one shop. The rooms need some upkeep, especially the bathroom, and the stairs are uneven, steep, and sometimes very high, so getting around isn’t easy. Reception and the restaurant, which is also a bar, are in a separate building farther down. The food is simple, homemade, and good, but the choice is limited.

The owners were so warm and welcoming, and it was a really peaceful stay. I’d happily stay here again if I’m back in the area. :)

The manager was very friendly. The homemade food at lunch and dinner was excellent, and the rooms had really comfortable beds for a good rest.
