The children’s facilities are fantastic, so weekend noise is part of the deal at a campsite like this. It does get busier then, and the toilets can be a bit dirty despite the cleaning staff working really hard. The dogs barking constantly were really annoying too. Still, it’s a beautiful, well-kept site, and a short ride along good cycle lanes gets you to supermarkets, bars, restaurants and a beautician. We’d happily recommend it and come back.

We spent two nights here in our caravan. The site was in good shape, and the toilet, shower and washroom blocks were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful with information. We’d definitely visit again.

The place was very clean, the staff were great and the food was nice during our long weekend in the caravan. One snag: every plot has a steep curb at the entrance, and our motor mover couldn’t get the caravan up onto ours. We’ve never had that problem before.

They say on the site that you can pay to use the showers without being a guest, but when I arrived they said no. So there was no way for me to take a shower.

The spa is great, and so is the restaurant, though there aren’t many vegetarian choices. The showers are clean and don’t use those awful push buttons we have in the UK. Getting into town is the awkward part: there’s no bus stop nearby, and the walk there and back is about 8,000 steps. If you can’t walk that far, you’ll feel stuck at the campsite. With a caravan or motorhome, driving around is no problem, and you can park nearer town, where there are plenty of restaurants and bars plus a local supermarket. The campsite shop only opens in the morning.
