Hotel Lo Monte

A real find for a quick overnight stop, with a comfortable room at a great price. This quaint family-run hotel sits between two highways, but inside it’s super clean, with unexpected touches like decorations, sitting areas and books to read. The service was very friendly, and breakfast next door was good.

The room itself was decent, with two seats, a wardrobe, a reasonably sized chest of drawers and good-sized bedside tables. The TV was really small. The toilet was dreadful: the shower fixture was barely hanging on the wall and there was no water pressure at all. One night an awful sewage-like smell came into the room. The hotel is outside town near an industrial site, and you can’t get there on foot because access is only via a motorway. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in, but later they were no help at all.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the owners couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. Everyone was friendly, and the on-site restaurant was perfect for breakfast and dinner.

Great coffee, good service and a large, clean dining area. I like having tostada con atun when I need an extra breakfast. There’s good parking, and it’s a great pit stop when passing through. Friends have said the rooms are good value, though I haven’t seen them myself yet.
