Checkin Montpalau

We stayed four nights and had to eat out every day because the food was so bad. The rooms stank of stale cigarettes, were extremely noisy, and had nowhere to put clothes. The shower water was dirty, and the door had such a tiny lock that someone could definitely break in. The staff were polite but couldn't answer questions because they didn't speak English. Around the pool there was no shade, the bar was constantly shut and had no snacks, the water was so dirty we didn't even get in, and all the sunbeds were broken. If you want to eat and sleep well, stay somewhere else. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in.

The food was tasty, and the coffee at Joao coffee house was good too. We had no Wi-Fi in the room, and there were no gluten-free breads or cakes. When I asked, the waiters showed me what I could eat, and once they even made a meal just for me. The staff also struggled with our reservation at first: the Russian receptionist couldn't find it, then realized she'd written our names in Russian, so they didn't match ours. We got the keycards eventually, but they were unreliable for three of our eight days, sometimes working and sometimes not. Our room was small, but we only used it at night. The view was just the street, which was okay. The beach was a 10-15 minute walk away, and the train station was just as close. We used the train a lot to visit Barcelona, Blanes, and other places. We fell in love with the town and can't wait to come back someday. :)

The staff were nice, but that didn't make up for the room. It was small and dark, with no Wi-Fi, fridge, glasses, or hair dryer. The bathroom looked about 30 years old, and the place was nothing like the holiday company had advertised.

The staff were kind, and the beach was an easy, straight seven-minute walk away. Bike rides nearby cost €6 for two hours or €7 for three, and I enjoyed the activities around there because they took my mind off the booking problems. Super escapes gave me incorrect room details, and the £724 price promised over the phone became £799 after I gave them my card details. Be careful with them. I wouldn't book through SuperEscapes again. Dinner didn't include drinks, either. Also, the shower came off the wall while my sister was using it.
