Jardines del Sol

We booked Jardines del Sol at the last minute, after arranging flights to Lanzarote only hours before leaving. It was among the cheapest places to stay we found, so we reserved a couple of nights. The house turned out to be much bigger than we needed, with a well-equipped kitchen, and the area was quiet and clean. There was lots of parking, plus bus and taxi stops just outside. The staff were really kind and even helped us sort out a taxi fare when we had a language barrier. In the evenings we enjoyed drinks, entertainment, and good food at the restaurant by the pool.

The place is peaceful and family-friendly, though there’s very little for children to do. We didn’t feel particularly welcome, although Nicolas was nice. Hot water came and went, and on some days we could only take cold showers. There was noisy maintenance outside our room, and the staff didn’t seem to care. The pool was freezing. I was ill on our departure day and asked for a late checkout, but they wouldn’t accommodate us. They charged extra, which was fine, but we were still rushed out. The staff could have been kinder and more accommodating, and that would have made for a great stay.

The staff were all so helpful and friendly, and the restaurant had something for everyone. They also managed my vegetarian diet and allergies, which I really appreciated. The resort is beautiful and peaceful, with comfortable, well-finished accommodation. It’s an easy short walk to the beach and local amenities, though you could also stay on site and still have a great time. We hope to come back.

This was our fifth visit to Jardines del Sol over the years, and it still feels welcoming, like a home away from home. The villas are well equipped. The weather was very windy this time, so it was hard to find shelter, but that wasn’t the resort’s fault. Stine was lovely when we arrived 😁
