Sandos Atlantic Gardens

We had a lovely four-night break, and the staff were friendly and helpful with questions about hire cars and day trips. We got a free upgrade to a double bungalow with plenty of room. It was very clean, with fresh towels every day. The main annoyance was the bed: two singles pushed together instead of a double, and they kept coming apart, so we had to get up and push them back together. The food was good and the facilities were great. The restaurant only labelled gluten as an allergen, so bear that in mind. The “heated” pool was cold, though we put that down to the time of year, December. There was standard holiday entertainment in the bar in the evenings, which made for a good atmosphere. I’d recommend staying here for a peaceful holiday and would come back.

The rooms were nice, the food was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s a short walk from the sea. Our room had two single beds instead of a double, which was annoying, and the food allergen labels were lacking. The pool was cold, though it may have been the time of year. A great experience overall, and I’d recommend it for an inexpensive getaway.

We stayed for a week in January 2026. It’s a small, low-key hotel with easy access to the promenade along the seafront. The freshwater pool and jacuzzi are a decent size, but neither is heated. The weather was mixed and cooler than usual, so we didn’t swim because the water wasn’t warm enough. The main building holds reception, restaurant and bar. The food was average, with a decent range that seemed in keeping with a three-star rating. Evening entertainment in the bar varied, but the quality wasn’t always good. The accommodation is in terraced chalets, advertised as bungalows. Ours had a patio with a table and chairs, a lounge with an outdated sofa, a breakfast bar with a couple of chairs, a bathroom with a shower, and a twin bedroom. We couldn’t get the air conditioning unit to work. It was cool enough that we didn’t need air conditioning, but some warmth in the evenings would have been welcome. The place needs upgrading. Our clothes stayed damp in the wardrobe and in our cases, and we had to use the tumble dryer to get dry clothes. Lots of guests return each year for long stays, and it felt like there were cliquey groups and favourite guests. The hotel is clean but feels very old-fashioned, and to me it only suits retired people. It is quiet, though, and I’d give it just two stars.

Franck’s morning Tai Chi classes were a particular highlight, and his knowledge made them a wonderful way to start the day. The food was tasty with good choices, and the staff were always attentive. Thanks to everyone at Atlantic Gardens for making the stay so enjoyable. I’ll definitely return soon. This was my second relaxing holiday at Atlantic Gardens. The bungalows were clean and set in well-kept gardens, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s in a good spot, with easy access to the coastal path towards Playa Blanca or a nice walk to the Lighthouse.
