Apartamentos Jacarandas

Good price and everything was handled online. We only needed somewhere for one night while passing through. The apartment had plenty of room and a very large, comfortable bed, though it was a little dated. It’s up a hill, and I had to use Google Earth to find it. It seemed more aimed at younger people, but there was no noise or other trouble. I’d use it again.

The pool area was good, and there was no scramble for sunbeds. The rooms were basic but clean, with comfortable beds. It’s a five-minute walk to the beach and restaurants, and about 15 minutes to Yumbo Centre. The towels were very worn and thin, and the lack of air conditioning was hard to deal with, even with a fan. I’d stay again if they installed air conditioning.

There was a long wait to get through the gate when we arrived. Nobody answered the intercom, so another guest had to let us in. One of the two receptionists didn’t speak English, which made it hard to get help, though the other was great. A building site across the street was extremely noisy, especially in the mornings, and it made relaxing by the lovely pool difficult. Still, we had an excellent stay for what we paid. The amenities are basic, but the kitchen had a coffee maker, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer box and two cooking rings. The bed was comfortable, with a small TV above it, and the large balcony had doors from both the living room and bedroom. The cleaner came five days a week, which we found more than enough, and she was good and didn’t arrive too early. The outdoor area was lovely, with a small pool that was nice for cooling off. The sun loungers were comfortable, but got so hot that you had to cover them completely to avoid burning yourself.

Unsafe, don’t stay here. Our room was robbed overnight, and the company won’t communicate with us or comply with the police report’s request for CCTV. Beware of this company.
