El Mirador Del Parque

We only booked this place because it was the last option during Holy Week. We have no complaint about the staff, but we were very unhappy with the two apartments we paid almost €500 for. They were VERY dirty. The sheets were torn, there were toenails on the floor, and food scraps were stuck to the pans and cups. The toilet was dirty, the shower curtain was completely brown, and there weren’t enough utensils. The dish soap had been watered down and smelled rotten. We couldn’t leave because we had nowhere else to go. I disagree with the response. Four forks between two apartments for seven people is not enough. Please go smell the dish soap in apartment number 7 and tell me if you’d wash dishes with it. It’s unsanitary. The extractor fan was nonexistent, the sheets were torn, and the sofa was broken. Calling that a lie doesn’t change it. €250 for two nights in one apartment is highway robbery.

The man was very nice and seemed to be doing his best, but the place is in awful shape. It was really dirty, and so many things were broken or poorly cared for: the showers, the bedspreads, the kitchen, and the utensils.

The apartments were old and dirty. Towels and bedding were torn and filthy, and the pillowcases were so worn that you wouldn’t want to sleep on them. There were cobwebs everywhere. I was in apartment 5, where the shower is little more than a sprinkler. Be ready to mop the floor after every shower. We came as several families with children and had booked and paid for three apartments, but only two were available when we arrived. We had no choice but to fit five adults and three children into those two. The next day, the owner, Teo, said that since we’d managed to sleep, we should keep using just two apartments. We asked for a refund for the apartment we couldn’t use, and he made excuses, saying extra beds cost more, then started haggling over the amount. Absurd. We only stayed because everywhere else was booked. If you can find somewhere else, don’t hesitate. It’s a shame that a place like this exists in such a beautiful area as Somiedo. It leaves a bad taste.

We went in summer with our children to watch bears and had a great time. The viewpoint is just a two-minute walk away, and the price seemed quite reasonable. The facilities were suitable for the area, and I found the accommodation charming and in the best location in Somiedo. The manager was very friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely come back.
