Hotel L'Ablana

The setting is spectacular, and despite some peculiarities with the staff, we had a positive experience. That wooden beam above the beds, though, is at a dangerous height. Whoever thought that was a good idea should reconsider it next time.

I’ve included the conversation I had about whether my reservation was valid. Booking.com has let me book rooms that don’t exist before, so I always call the hotel to confirm. If this is how they treat people before they even arrive, I can only imagine what it would be like to stay there. I wouldn’t set foot in the hotel even if they paid me. I sincerely hope the person replying in the Booking.com chat during that conversation gets fired.

The room itself was clean, decent, and reasonably priced. The manager’s aggressive, appalling treatment made the stay miserable. In the fall, with it 8 degrees outside, he first refused to put on the heating. We had to keep insisting before he’d turn it on or give us another blanket. He also wouldn’t serve breakfast, even though it was included among the hotel’s services. Then, when we went to our car in the hotel parking lot, we found two flat tires. We had the “bad luck” of that happening on top of everything else. We won’t return or recommend the hotel.

It’s very clean, reasonably priced, and set in a spectacular, peaceful location. Service is another matter. There’s no flexibility with breakfast times, and I missed the manager offering me even a basic coffee when I checked out before the scheduled time. There isn’t much to expect beyond what’s already provided.
