Can Colom

We went to Can Colom Villa in Mallorca in winter and came away completely charmed. The days were sunny and warm, much nicer than we’d expected for that time of year, and the island’s scenery made it even better. The villa itself felt carefully put together, from the comfortable, stylish rooms to the landscaped grounds. It had a cozy, home-like feel. We spent plenty of time in the heated Jacuzzi, relaxing in the warm water while looking out at Mallorca’s landscape, even when the air was chilly. The location, lovely weather, and Jacuzzi made this a peaceful winter break and a real treat. We had a better stay than we’d imagined and can’t wait to come back. Can Colom Villa is a gem for a winter visit. Highly recommended.

Julius was a great host, and we really enjoyed the gym, heated pool, and peaceful setting. There were eight of us in the spacious, quiet villa, only a four-minute drive from downtown Pollenca. The Bose system around the pool and outdoor area was a big bonus. Thanks!

The villa itself is in a nice spot, with lots of privacy, and it’s attractive, well maintained, and well prepared. Our stay was mixed, though. We had serious connection trouble, with no 5G and barely any Wi-Fi. Julius, who was meant to be our first contact, responded casually with inaccurate advice and poor communication, and didn’t apologize for the problems. I was curious to read the reviews afterward. Jan Herre seems to be part of the team, perhaps even the owner, since he sends the welcome email with instructions. That makes his review look clearly fake. His praise for Julius is especially funny in that context.

We were so glad we booked the pool heating for the cooler April weather, around 16-20 degrees Celsius. The kids could hardly be coaxed out of the pool, then we’d all relax in the very warm whirlpool. The calm of the property felt like a real oasis, and after sunset we loved looking over the beautifully lit, immaculate garden. We could play our own music through the stereo, with hidden Bose speakers around the grounds. The garden was good for soccer and beach ball too. We’re already looking forward to coming back. There are four ground-level units: the main house, with a single step, kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms; a small detached house with two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room; another cute detached unit with a bedroom and bathroom; and a house with the glass-enclosed gym. There’s no door to the bathroom in that cute little unit, which might not suit everyone. The villa is about 40 minutes from the airport. The directions about turning off the main road just after the speed camera were really useful, and we parked our two cars easily, with space for a visitor’s third car as well. The arrival was straightforward thanks to the detailed notes about where things were, even with tired children. Having their swimwear in hand luggage helped us get started while the adults unloaded. I used the fitness room several times a week. It has a spin bike with a view of the pool and villa, two cable machines with lots of handles, an adjustable weight bench, flexible dumbbells, mats, and a padded floor. I could cover my usual gym exercises there, from pulldowns and rows to squats and curls. Without air conditioning, it could get sweaty even in April. We tried the different cooking options, including the real-fire pizza oven, outdoor stove, charcoal grill, and main-house kitchen. The outdoor kitchen also has its own dishwasher and fridge, so the walk to the indoor dishwasher wasn’t an issue at all. The beach is under 15 minutes by car, and the nearest supermarket is about 5-10 minutes away. Thanks for such a great week!
