Can Maque

The outdoor area, pool and secluded garden were good, and the villa is well placed for both Pollensa and Alcudia. We used hired bikes to explore and get to supermarkets, though a rental car may be necessary. The bedrooms are small and the kitchen is adequately equipped, but wide-angle photos and editing make the interior look better than it is: inside it's drab, dated and poorly lit. We found problems with lighting, plumbing and ventilation, including a rusting enamel bath, a utility sink damaged by rodents and leaking very badly, a broken door handle, extensive woodworm in the bathroom beams, and a mirror with badly corroded silvering. To me, these all pointed to the owners being reluctant to give up rental income to maintain a reasonable standard. Some supplies were provided, but just two toilet rolls for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom villa. Really? A large dead fly was on the kitchen windowsill when we arrived and was still there 14 days later, even after the mid-stay cleaning. That says it all. The place didn't meet reasonable expectations, so I wouldn't return or recommend it.
