We stayed four nights as a family of five, and I’d give it 3.5 stars. The main issues were the 10 am checkout, a safe that didn’t work, and a bathroom door that scraped along the floor because it wasn’t aligned. Air conditioning was only available from 13 to 15 hrs and 19 hrs to 07 hrs the next morning, so the apartment could get hot. Opening windows didn’t help, since hot breezes came in, and mosquitoes were active around dusk. The TV had Spanish channels and just one in English. On the plus side, the beach is about a seven-minute walk away, and the pool was nice for a swim late at night when it was cooler. Our ground-floor Unit 02 had direct side-gate access to the pool, three beds and two living-room sofas converted into beds. There was a spacious terrace with table and chairs, a big fridge and a well-equipped kitchen, even a sponge and drying cloth, though detergent had to be brought separately. The room-service staff were very friendly, except for one supervisor who reminded us not to forget the 10am checkout. The washing machines for two units are in a shared-access room.

We only managed two of our eight nights here before moving elsewhere, which cost us a lot since we had to book alternative accommodation for the remaining six. The apartment didn’t suit our family, and the hosts wouldn’t offer any refund or compensation, even though we felt the online listing had mis-sold it. If we’d seen it before booking, we wouldn’t have chosen it. It was far smaller than the photos suggested, and the air conditioning was only in the bedroom and ran on a timer we hadn’t known about. The lounge sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. The apartment was very hot when we arrived; we tried cooling the bedroom and leaving its door open, but the kitchen and lounge stayed hot. My husband and I ended up with an uncomfortable, very hot night on the sofa bed while our daughter had the bedroom. The air conditioning switched off early one morning and woke our two-year-old when she got too hot. She also couldn’t nap in a cool room if her nap fell outside the timer hours. We won’t stay again or recommend it to family and friends who regularly stay in Cala. Really disappointing.

A fantastic place in a great spot, just a short walk from the beach. My only complaint is the apartments don’t have WiFi. The lobby is the only place with reliable access. They’ve managed to put cable boxes in the apartments, but not WiFi routers.
