We'd had a very good experience using refugi at Tossals Verds and Son Amer, and Pont Roma in Pollenca would have been just as good if it weren't for what happened on the 14th of March. We'd booked two nights at the end of our hiking trip. At check-in, we hadn't decided whether to eat dinner there both nights, so we paid for one and agreed to tell the lady in the morning if we wanted dinner the following evening. By then the staff member had changed. When we tried to book, he insisted, almost shouting at me, that he “will not prepare any more dinners because the dishwasher had been faulty for 3 weeks.” I'd have understood plenty of reasons for turning down a dinner order, but treating guests badly to protest against management isn't acceptable, especially in that tone. It's a shame we left on a bad note. The rest of our GR221 hike had been great.

We stayed here before setting off on the GR 221. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and nice, and the staff were helpful. The location was convenient too, near the bus stop and a 15-minute walk from Lidl.

At first, my friend and I were ready to give this place a low rating. There were rules against bringing food and shoes into the room, and the worst one was that the gates close at 11pm, so you can't get back in if you're stuck outside. But we changed our minds once we realized it's more of a refuge. The beds were really comfortable, with great mountain views. You can rent one of their few bicycles, and laundry costs €3. There are only 2 showers and 2 toilets. Breakfast is about €5 and really isn't worth it unless you're very hungry. Lots of solo travellers stay here, so it's easy to chat or make friends in the back garden/terrace, with its wooden tables and benches. All in all, it's a good place to sleep.

The property is very clean, and the staff are friendly and happy to help. Right at the start of the GR221, before the climb up to Lluc, the Refugi is a handy stop for a coffee and a look at the map on display. Highly recommended.

Everything was spotless, and the staff were kind and helpful from the phone reservation through check-out. The fireplace and the gang of cats both help make the place feel warm and welcoming. The showers are quite cold, which might be refreshing in summer but wasn't so welcome in December, and the place gets physically locked at 10pm. Even so, I'd absolutely recommend it for a night or two.
