Son del Rio II

The setting and pool are beautiful, and the pool house has a lot of charm. But the house is so short on basic comforts that I felt more like a squatter or a camper than a guest. There was only one roll of toilet paper, no spare bin bag, and not even a cup of coffee or tea, salt, pepper, or a small bar of soap. The nearest supermarket is a 15-minute drive away. They left a bottle of water, but that was the only sign of hospitality. Even cheap places usually provide coffee and tea; salt, pepper, and a lighter felt like the bare minimum, especially since the stove has to be lit by hand. It was cold in May, around 14° at night and 17° indoors, with no way to warm up. The small radiator in the main bedroom didn't work. There's a fireplace, but no wood or lighter. The gas stove barely has a flame and there's no built-in igniter, so bring your own lighter and don't expect to cook a decent meal. A camping stove would work better. Such a shame, because the location is amazing and the pool is lovely.
