La Suite del Eume

There’s plenty of nature around, and the area has lots of historic monuments to explore, so it’s a great base. We were especially impressed by the food and the very good value. The care you get starts as soon as you arrive, and it’s outstanding. We’ll come back.

We stayed in October and had the whole top floor to ourselves in a lovely, very spacious suite. The attic feel and bathtub made it especially charming. It’s tucked away in a quiet part of town with beautiful scenery, and we didn’t really notice the noise other guests had mentioned. The staff were pleasant, and they even left us a slice of cheesecake to welcome us. Breakfast was very good too. We’ll be back!

The balcony views, clean rooms, and comfortable beds made the accommodation feel really inviting. Our room also had an electric coffee maker with capsules, and breakfast was included for both nights. We were there in July, and from arrival the owner was kind and attentive, always making sure we had what we needed. We also met her mother, who knows the area well and gave us lovely suggestions for interesting places around Pontedeume. Her tips helped us find some distinctive, authentic spots. We’d happily stay at El Balcón del Eume again. A relaxing base for enjoying Pontedeume, with warm service throughout.

The room itself was cozy, but the traffic made it hard to get proper rest. The place sits on a road bend with cars going by all day and night. One window blocked sound, but the other somehow didn’t, so the noise kept coming in. Breakfast was industrial pastries in a pretty café lounge; coffee came from a thermos even though there was a machine. For the price, it wasn’t worth dealing with those conditions. There are better places in central Pontedeume for the same or less, where you won’t hear cars. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation.
