Hotel Apartamentos Dabarca

The flats have useful space for sharing with other pilgrims, plus a washer and full kitchen. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms spotless, and the location is just right. It's a quiet place with enough warmth to help you feel human again after a long Camino day, though it doesn't have much Camino spirit. When the washing machine flooded the floor, there was no staff around. I had to borrow a bucket from the café waiter and mop it up myself. In a thousand nights on the road, I'd never had to play janitor before. The place has potential, but could use more soul and less distance in the service. A worthy stop if space and function matter more to you than frills.

The room looked nothing like the online listing, and staff greeted me with aggressive sarcasm that felt neither kind nor polite. It made me uncomfortable. There was a sewer smell, with spider webs in the corners. The shower was just a rubber mat on the same floor as the rest of the bathroom, which didn't seem hygienic to me. With nothing to separate the shower area, the whole bathroom was wet afterward. The TV had no signal, the bedside lamp had no bulb, and the advertised free WiFi didn't work in my room. The kitchen lacked basic things like a frying pan and a cloth for handling items from the stove. The forks were greasy, and one spoon had a bunch of hairs on it. A complete disaster. I strongly advise against booking here.

The rooms are a little old, but the one-bedroom place was great. The staff were very friendly, and it made for a great two-day stop on the Camino.

It feels like your second home 😍, not a hotel.
