Virgen del Camino

There’s a parking garage right next to the hotel, which is a big plus when finding a space downtown is such a mess. The woman at the desk was very friendly at both check-in and checkout. Our room was big, with a proper shower cabin and a huge bed, which we liked. Breakfast had lots of variety and was clean and good. A great hotel.

The location worked well, with lots of places to eat nearby. The room was disappointing, though. The vents were dirty and the shower looked unclean. It smelled strongly of cleaning products when I first arrived, then once that faded, there was a sewer smell. The elevator doors close aggressively, so move fast.

We were on the Camino Portugues route, so this was a perfect spot to stay. The hotel was clean and spacious, and is being renovated, but I’d still recommend it. The restaurant is fantastic, with very good food and staff who were friendly and helpful.

The staff were absolutely lovely, and breakfast was decent value even though it wasn’t anything special. My room had a couple of things that need fixing, but otherwise it was okay. It’s a simple three-star hotel, fine if you’re staying just a couple of nights and won’t spend much time in the room.
