The area is stunning and there’s plenty to do. We visited the caves, walked through the markets and along the beach, and had a great time. The staff at the bar and restaurant were friendly, and since we were among the few English guests, they made a real effort to communicate with us. Our room was cleaned brilliantly, with fresh towels and made beds each day. This was my boyfriend’s and my first holiday together. The staff were friendly when we arrived, and we were really pleased with our clean room and its lovely view of the pool bar and outdoor seating. The sunbed area is lovely too. Breakfast and dinner both had enough variety for us, and we’ll definitely visit again. We both give it five stars.

We were there for one night and two days. The staff were so friendly, especially Fadua at the front desk and Elizabeth at the bar. They answered our questions and took care of what we needed with kindness and patience. The pool and cabana area is beautiful, and you can reserve a cabana for free. Breakfast and dinner are included, with a varied buffet that filled us up every time, plus free water and coffee. It’s an easy walk to the caves, which I highly recommend, and to the harbour and beach. My family and I will definitely come back.

The staff and client relationship manager Ana were lovely and friendly, and did their best to make my partner and me comfortable. They gave me cake and wine for my birthday, which I appreciated. The pool was okay, and breakfast had a fairly large selection, including hot food. I’d give the staff the extra star. The room and construction were among the worst I’ve experienced. It was filthy, with mold in the shower, battered doors, and a balcony so disgusting I couldn’t go outside barefoot. There was no clothes dryer or hanger on the balcony for my swimming suit. The view was a cement expanse covered with bird droppings and cigarette butts from the rooms above. There was even a swarm of ants inside the room beside the beds, a health and safety concern. The hotel was fully booked, and apparently changing rooms was impossible. I booked a double room months ahead but was given a room with two single beds. When I asked, I was told the room type I’d requested wasn’t available when I booked, though nobody had told me before I arrived. The four-star brand and photos shouldn’t fool you; some amenities may be there, but the room quality felt like an ungraded room rental. I came away very disappointed. This couple’s getaway left us uncomfortable and disgusted, and ultimately feeling scammed. I’d strongly suggest looking at other two- or three-star hotels, which could give you the same or better experience.

The bed was very comfortable, the hotel was clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. I liked the big flat-screen TV on the wall, and the view over the dock was nice. We had half board, with plenty of food that was nice enough, though dishes meant to be hot were quite cold. It worked for me, and I’d still choose that option again. When we arrived on a very hot day, the air conditioning in my room didn’t work. I reported it in the morning and reception said someone would look at it right away. When I came back later, a different receptionist and maintenance worker were on shift and didn’t have an update; they said again that maintenance would check. On my next visit they told me it would be fixed the following morning. Luckily, the second day was cooler and I got some sleep. They fixed it in the morning, but it still didn’t work very well or lower the temperature much. Thankfully the remaining days weren’t as hot. I’d stay again if outdoor temperatures were in the low twenties.
