We found some lovely local walks, including hills, forests, and gorges. We’re both in our mid-seventies and still managed to take in a lot of what the real Spain has to offer. The apartments at Ibipozo are roomy and nicely furnished, with enough equipment for us to make supper for four adults when we wanted to cook for ourselves. There are individual BBQs too, and it was fun seeing and smelling what other guests were cooking at lunchtime and in the evenings. The surrounding mountains and countryside are superb, and it’s a wonderfully peaceful setting for a relaxing holiday. Next door, the friendly family-run restaurant serves high-quality Spanish regional food, with smiling service and options for couples and families alike. We’d go back if our legs will carry us.

It’s about a 4.5-hour drive from Madrid airport, and you’ll want a rental car since public transport around here isn’t great. The place is very quiet, with a pool and lots of greenery, and staying at least a week is required. We thought it was well worth it for a proper experience of the Spanish countryside. KM5, the restaurant beside the property, stays open late. A really nice place to stay. 👍🏻👍🏻

These are rustic country homes, single or duplex, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and the basics you need for a stay of several days or a week. They aren’t set up for room service. The accommodation was clean and well maintained, and the staff were extremely helpful in several languages. It’s tucked into olive country and ideally located for anyone who loves nature. Google Maps worked well for finding drives, hikes, and cultural spots such as Jaen and Granada. And a tip: Kilometer 6 Restaurant is BUENO!!!
