After a long trek in the mountains, this is just what you want: a warm meal, hot water, a comfortable mattress, clean bedding, and friendly staff. The views are lovely, and there’s even a fireplace. Francisco was a great host. Cozy place to stay overnight in Sierra Nevada - Hoya de la Mora, and really good value for the price.

We keep coming back to this classic albergue, tucked high up in the Sierra Nevada ski station. It suits mountaineers and nature lovers, but it's also a nice stop if you're just passing through. The hostel-style accommodation is simple, and we love warming up with a hot shower after skiing, then having an Alpujarra-style dinner and relaxing by the fireplace.

We tried the Ratatouille and the Huevos Rotos, and they were some of the best food we've had in Spain. The food is simple and delicious, and the portions are huge.

I was sick all night with a fever and a lot of vomiting after eating the croquettes at this restaurant. I've never felt that ill before. I had to stay in bed for three days, which took up half my holiday. Never again!

The best part was the staff. We were there right at the start of the season, so there were hardly any other guests, and Denise, the lovely Brazilian woman we dealt with most, made us feel so cared for. The included dinner was amazing, the fireplace was wonderful, and the place is beautifully situated. We couldn't have asked for kinder service. Thank you for everything, we'll be back!
