Restaurants, bars, supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, and bike rentals are all in the village. This is a handy place to stay for a Bear's Trail (Senda del Oso) hike, since the trail is very close. It’s a small, cozy country cottage with just one bedroom, but has what you need to unwind after walking. Parking is limited, although finding a space isn’t hard.

Antonio was especially hospitable and helpful, and we’d gladly come back. The little house is well placed for visiting several sights, and the Bear's Trail (Senda del Oso) is less than five minutes away. We booked from Friday through Sunday, and found the village had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

We came to Proaza in February with our bikes to hike the Bear Trail, and staying here from Friday to Sunday worked well. The trail is about a minute away, and there’s space to keep the bikes on the ground floor. It’s suitable for two people. The house was generally clean, but I took off a star because the areas behind the furniture need a thorough clean. I’d still stay here again without hesitation.

The owners seemed very friendly, but the house itself was a bad experience for us and I wouldn’t come back. The bed is small, and I could feel the mattress whenever I moved. The bathroom is poor, with a cramped shower that’s very slippery. After a hike, getting a shower should be the best part, but here it was a nightmare because there’s so little room. We didn’t use the kitchen, though it’s small and has a little microwave and a tiny oven.
