Pazo Barbeirón Slow Hotel Ribeira Sacra

The host was really congenial, and the 17th-century building is magnificent. The name Slow Hotel fits. There’s no restaurant or drinks and refreshments in the bedroom, though, so you’ll need to add €15 a day for a return taxi to the nearest restaurant or bar, a 10-minute drive away. It could be a wonderful romantic retreat if you just want to be together, but sadly it’s not ideal for families.

I canceled nine days ahead and still got charged 50%. It turns out the hotel has a 40-day cancellation policy, which I’d never come across before. I’d considered adding this place to a list of places to visit later, but now it’s left a bad taste in my mouth.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the renovation of the beautiful building was done with great taste. The breakfast had good variety and quality ingredients. Most of all, Meli was attentive and very friendly throughout our stay. It’s a lovely place in a peaceful setting, and I’d highly recommend it. Thanks so much for the excellent service.

Mara and Meli looked after us perfectly. The pazo is magnificent, with beautiful surroundings and elegant decor that still keeps its original character. The breakfasts were wonderful, and the food they prepare for lunch and dinner deserves just as much praise. We’ll definitely return as soon as we can. A stay here is a guaranteed success 😍
