The noise made this a really unpleasant stay. Cars went by all night in this busy area, and we could hear the upstairs neighbors even going to the bathroom. With the wooden floors and ceilings, it felt like they might come through into our apartment. The place also needs serious maintenance. The shower floor was dangerously slippery, the bathroom door trim was cracked, and there was damp on the ceiling. The armchair was awful, and its bed was worse, with cigarette burns on the mattress. The refrigerator barely cooled, made so much noise we couldn’t sleep, and smelled terrible when we opened it on the first day. There was no kitchen soap or trash bags, and the soap dispenser was like one in a public restroom, with no shower gel or shampoo. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it.

The town felt useful mainly as a place to sleep before visiting the rock art interpretation center and caves. Breakfast wasn’t available until 10 or 11, and even then there wasn’t much choice. Our accommodation had a long list of problems: the fridge smelled awful and didn’t work at all, while its compressor ran constantly. There was bathroom damp, broken door hinges, a bathroom door that wouldn’t shut, and an armchair marked with cigarette burns. The extra bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the TV kept malfunctioning, perhaps because the batteries were bad. Traffic outside and noise through the wooden building, including the neighbors using the bathroom, made it hard to rest. On top of that, an electrical problem left the emergency light on all night. I don’t recommend staying here.

Raquel was so friendly and made sure we knew where to go, eat, and park. The apartment was spotless, and even the kitchenware, toiletries, and cleaning supplies showed attention to detail. We were delighted, and they even left us a welcome gift. A perfect 10, easily. We were thrilled and grateful, and recommend it 150%!

We spent five days here with our pet and had everything we needed, whether for a short stay or a longer one. The apartment felt almost new and is right in the center of Puente Viesgo, with restaurants close by for after our outings. There’s no private parking in front, but you can find spaces at the town hall or just a few steps away, so parking was never a problem. A great base for seeing the area and the rest of Cantabria.
