Hotel Don Manolito

We liked the location, and the hotel was clean with friendly staff. The food wasn't great: breakfast was more or less the same every day, and dinners were bland with limited choice. Nothing was labelled, so anyone with a food intolerance has to be careful. The whole hotel had no air conditioning, and our room was hot and stuffy. After three very hot days we finally got a fan, but it only pushed the sticky air around. Smoking was allowed only in a small area near the pool, not in the hotel or on balconies. Even if you were on a pool sunbed, you had to leave it to go to the "Smokers Corner". That won't matter to everyone, I know. On our last day, we were refused dinner, which we hadn't been told about. We'd paid an extra €60 for late checkout, but had no food after breakfast until we got home at 4 am the next day.

A dependable three-star place and good value if you're not looking to pay for anything exceptional. The rooms have no AC, so they can get pretty hot, but for the price it was fine. The food was okay too. Breakfast had a great fried egg, while dessert was a little underwhelming 🍳

The staff and manager were so welcoming, and they paid close attention to what we needed while travelling with our baby. The location was great, close to the city centre but still quiet enough that you could hear the waves at night. It felt well worth the money, and we had a lovely stay. Breakfast could be improved. It was much the same every day, and I missed Jamon, grated tomatoes, and olives. Also, even though breakfast officially ends at 9:30 am, it would've been nicer if the staff hadn't turned off the lights while guests were still finishing. It made us feel under pressure. We were very happy with our stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and its location is excellent, close to the beaches, town centre, and lots of small local shops and restaurants. We went half board. Evening meals cost only an extra £7 per person per night, which was excellent value, though you shouldn't expect sirloin steak for that price. Personally, I thought the food was good for what we paid, and breakfast was excellent. Drinks cost extra but were reasonably priced. We stayed in February. The lack of air conditioning didn't bother us, but it might be more of an issue in the height of summer. The bedrooms could do with a fridge and kettle, especially a fridge, which was the main thing missing.
